BEWARE of current calls or text messages on cell phones claiming possible fraud on your account and requesting account information. They often do not name a specific institution, because they are Phishing (process of trying to fraudulently obtain personal financial information). Don’t call the number. Cell phone and text message scammers probably found your number randomly. Much like replying to spam is a bad idea, a return call to the scammers confirms for them that they pinpointed a working number. This could increase your chances of receiving other scam messages.
