City of Clearwater announced that Direct Deposits will be posted to employee accounts overnight 11/27/08 for FRIDAY availability. City Payroll Checks will be dated 11/28/08, and cannot be negotiated until Friday.
While CCECU has historically followed the City's Holiday schedule, due to this abrupt change in the City's Holiday payroll procedure, CCECU is modifying its Thanksgiving Week Schedule as shown below.

WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE TO OUR MEMBERS WHICH RESULTS FROM THE ACTIONS OF CRIMINAL CARD THIEVES AND IRRESPONSIBLE MERCHANTS WHO DO NOT CHECK FOR IDENTIFICATION, VIRTUALLY ALLOWING FRAUDULENT TRANSACTIONS TO GO UNCHECKED!
Due to a significant increase in counterfeit debit card fraud, in a move to better protect member accounts at CCECU, we have made the following changes to our Debit Card program:

Daily Limits have been reduced*;
-
Pay at the Pump transactions have been blocked;
-
International transactions have been blocked;
- High risk transactions now REQUIRE YOUR PIN # for authorization
Typically fraud increases over the Holidays, and the current economy has only heightened the risk of fraud. Remember these important Debit Card Safety Tips:
- NEVER use your DEBIT card number over the internet. CCECU prohibits internet Debit card transactions;
- KEEP Your Debit card in view during checkout; anyone who takes the card out of your sight can easily duplicate the card with a small pocket size skimming device;
- SCRUTINIZE all ATM machines, gas pumps, etc. for potential skimming devices even when using a credit card; if anything feels loose or looks suspicious, find another location to conduct your transaction, and notify the machine owner or the police of possible tampering;
- Press the CLEAR (or Cancel) button at gas pumps or other electronic units and ATM machines after your transaction is processed to protect your information;
- If traveling out of the country, use a credit card; there is an epidemic of International Debit card fraud
